Turks + Caicos | Providenciales November 2017

Where are we you may ask?  Well you must have guessed it by the title of this blog, Providenciales Turks and Caicos.  My husband and I had the nicest time in this small island.  We had the privilege to stay with the Bobb family(aka Eunice's sister) where they had an extra room for us to stay.  Our vacation was short and sweet but full of adventure!

My great friend Eunice started off by taking us to Fish Fry where we were able to experience conch for the first time.  For those who are not from the island conch is pronounce conk.  If you say it any other way they know you're a foreigner (ha! which is obvious we were).  Conch is a main dish served here at Provo.  We then headed to Grace Bay which has this beautiful mural of the Caicos Islands.

Something I quickly realized was that they all drive on the left side of the road which I could not get used to.  Not only were we on the opposite side of the road but the other drivers drove on both sides AHH!  Good thing I wasn't driving ha!

The weather wasn't ideal, but thats something we are used to here in Florida.  We did get one day of good weather and it was perfect.  :)  Our five days in Provo involved going out in service, scuba diving, the beach and the best part was making new friends.

When we visited the kingdom hall in Provo we had the chance to meet 16 brothers and sisters that were assigned for the disaster relief caused by Hurricane Irma.  Many brothers and sisters had substantial damage done to their homes.  Nothing to worry because help had arrived.  :D

The beach was a turquoise blue and the sand the perfectly granulated lol.  The colors of the beach was something straight out of a painting.

So you maybe wondering... Ana where did you find this cave? ;p So after we retired from the local beach we decided to make our way to Mango Reef restaurant.  This involved going thru construction areas and well... empty land.  But as we went around the bush we found these old abandoned stairs that led to a new path.  It was an old house that had been destroyed by Hurricane Irma.  The view from the top was perfect so I could help myself but set up my camera and use the self timer :D.

We then quickly realized we were a bit lost and didn't know how to reach the restaurant from our location.  Little did we know....

There was a dog who found us!  I am not kidding about this.  We were at a crossroads and I said "James I think this dog is here to lead us out".  We started following it and when we stopped she stopped to make sure we were following her :D.  She led us straight to the main road!  I have the photos to prove it!  Gosh do I love animals lol!

We then made it Mango Reef and had a delicious Seared Tuna Salad and Tuna Carpaccio.

That wasn't the end of our leg of the trip lol.  We then made the long walk to Bight Park.  Along the way we go honked at my jitnies.  Jitnies are unregistered taxis that will pick up people along the way to take them to their destination.  Basically an uber without the technology.  Sadly we didn't take one.  Maybe next time.

At the Bobb family household we were greeted by Rocita her husband Ravon and her daughter Maya.  The Bobb family were super hospitable and a lovely family.  Asher and Maya are the sweetest kids ever.  Asher devoted his love for me just hours after we met and Maya is a little brainiac.  We were able to see him do his first talk at the Kingdom Hall(thru video recording).  He was so nervous that after physically moving him around he began pulling on his tooth from the nerves, but he quickly recovered and finished his bible reading in Creole.

Our last night it ended perfectly with a beautiful sunset.  None of this would have happened if it wasn't for my great friend Eunice.  I hope we get to see everyone real soon!
